Tobias is a Chartered Professional Structural Engineer with over twenty years of experience in the innovative design of timber, concrete, and steel structures. He has worked in both New Zealand and Italy, bringing a wealth of international expertise to his role. As the Managing Director of PTL, Tobias is passionate about project management and the delivery of services on time and on budget. His academic background includes a deep dive into the study of time and costs involved in implementing cutting edge technologies, an expertise he expertly integrates into projects.

Daniel is a Chartered Professional Engineer with a passion for innovation and efficiency. From timber bridges to multi-storey buildings, he designs practical, cost-effective solutions that balance performance and sustainability. With deep expertise in timber and seismic design, he enjoys solving complex engineering challenges and exploring new materials and structural systems.
A strong team player, Daniel values collaboration and actively shares his knowledge with clients, colleagues, and the wider engineering community. His experience in both Italy and New Zealand, combined with a solid research background, ensures that every project benefits from international best practices and the latest industry insights.

Francesco combines his experience in structural engineering with a passion for technology, creating numerical models that enhance PTL’s structural designs. A Chartered Professional Engineer, he specializes in the seismic response of structures. His background includes advanced studies and practical applications in both Europe and New Zealand. Francesco’s qualifications and skills enable PTL to apply state-of-the-art modelling techniques, ensuring efficient and safe building designs.

Andy is a pioneer in modern timber construction with decades of experience in timber engineering, earthquake engineering, and fire engineering. Andy’s impressive engineering experience in the industry and academia includes Distinguished Fellow of Engineering New Zealand and Emeritus Professor at the University of Canterbury. He is passionate in knowledge sharing, converting cutting-edge engineering research into practical applied solutions. Andy is the author and editor for numerous engineering resources such as Structural Design for Fire Safety, New Zealand Timber Design Guide etc. which have enhanced the building design landscape.

Dave has extensive knowledge, having worked as a structural engineer since 1972. His passion is assisting architects and contractors in achieving practical and efficient structural solutions. Before joining PTL, Dave contributed significantly to Holmes Consulting and Buchanan & Fletcher Ltd. His qualifications include decades of practical application and a focus on educating clients about structural concepts.practical and efficient solution, providing a bit of education around structural concepts along the way.

Malcolm is a Chartered Professional Engineer with a strong background in structural engineering. His dedication to the field is evident in his work on a wide range of projects, from residential homes to large-scale commercial buildings. Having worked at Buchanan & Fletcher Ltd and as a director of Structural Elements Ltd, he brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise. His qualifications, combined with hands-on practice, ensure excellence in design and construction monitoring.

Silvia is a structural engineer with a passion for timber design, structural drafting, and BIM. She has been involved in a wide variety of projects, including complex residential dwellings, timber sheds, modular building systems, and large timber community buildings in New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. Her qualification in Building Engineering-Architecture and extensive work experience in both Italy and New Zealand contribute to her expertise in high-performance residential design and prefabricated construction methods.

Emma is a structural engineer whose passion for timber engineering is rooted in the sustainability, beauty and design challenges that encompass timber buildings. She earned her Masters of Engineering in Integrated Wood Design in Canada, and since moving to New Zealand she has worked on a wide variety of projects across New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. Emma is a team player and values collaboration and communication to ensure the smooth and efficient delivery of projects. Emma’s qualifications and experience in designing complex timber structures make her an invaluable asset to PTL.

Will is a structural engineer who uses his knowledge, attention to detail, and passion for problem-solving to tackle technical challenges. He holds a First Class Honours degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Canterbury, and has a broad range of project experience including soils testing, design of complex residential buildings, log houses, and timber bridges.

Nadia is a structural engineer with a strong focus on innovation and attention to detail. She holds a First-Class Honours degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Canterbury. She has a passion for sustainability which is evident through her efficient and thoughtful designs and her use of structural timber.

Dennis is a Chartered Professional Engineer in fire safety engineering. His extensive fire safety design experience includes the completion of numerous significant Christchurch building projects, including residential, commercial and education. Dennis’ passion for fire engineering is evident in his holistic approach to building fire safety which enables functional, cost-effective and fire-safe building designs to be developed that satisfy the client’s design objectives.

Pierre is a Chartered Professional Engineer with over a decade of experience in the fire engineering field. Passionate about performance-based structural fire design and passive fire protection, he focuses on delivering practical and cost-effective solutions. He graduated in France as a civil engineer and gained structural fire engineering experience in Paris before moving to New Zealand in 2016. Known for his meticulous attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills, he thrives in collaborative environments, actively engaging with design teams to optimise fire safety strategies

Cameron is a structural fire engineer with a passion for innovative design. He earned a Bachelor of Civil Engineering with Honours from the University of Canterbury and is currently pursuing a Master of Engineering in Fire Engineering. He has a diverse range of project experience, including structural design of mass timber bridges and buildings, pre-fabricated structural systems, and solving complex structural fire scenarios. Cameron’s skills in structural design and fire safety ensure that he contributes effectively to PTL’s projects.

Ezra is a fire engineer with a passion for fire safety design, His experience includes timber buildings and healthcare buildings where managed evacuation is adopted. Ezra holds a Master of Engineering Studies Degree in Fire Engineering from the University of Canterbury. His qualifications and knowledge on fire safety fundamentals and building regulations enable him to analyse complex fire scenarios and develop efficient engineering solutions to mitigate fire safety risks.

Tiziana is responsible for all aspects of office administration and finance. With a background in education and a postgraduate degree in Business from the University of Canterbury, she is always willing to learn something new and enjoys the challenge.
Her attention to detail, organization skills, and positive attitude as the smiling face of PTL help keep things on track.
