PTL’s Recent Visit to the Southern Lakes

By Tiziana Baldini |

A few weeks ago, PTL engineers Bjørn Stankowitz and Daniel Moroder visited Queenstown and Cromwell to explore standout timber buildings — from architectural gems to advanced offsite construction projects.

This visit was not only a chance to admire innovative design but also to connect with the companies behind these projects. Hearing firsthand about their technical solutions, delivery strategies, and lessons learned was invaluable.

The trip reinforced PTL’s commitment to timber innovation and strengthened our presence in the wider Southern Lakes region.

Through their roles at the NZ Timber Design Society, Bjørn and Daniel encouraged several of these companies to share insights and expertise through upcoming webinars and journal papers — helping to broaden knowledge across the entire design community.
